I'm Dwi Hansen

Dwi Hansen is a classical and also a fingerstyle guitarist with nylon guitar. He was born in Gunungkidul August 5th, 1997 and learned to play guitar since he was about 8 or 9 years old. He started to learn classical guitar in SMM (Sekolah Menengah Musik) Yogyakarta under the supervision of Mohamad Nur Kodar S. Sn, after that he continued his study majoring classical guitar in ISI (Institut Seni Indonesia) Yogyakarta under the supervision of Dr. Andre Indrawan, M. Hum, M. Mus. Hansen has received several awards such as 1st placed in Junior Category of UNY Classical Guitar Festival #2 (2014), 1st placed in Art (High School Subcategory) Classical Guitar Category of FLS2N 2014, 1st runner up in Open Category of Valerio International Guitar Festival 2016, Best Guitarist in Jazz Acoustic Contest Malang 2016, 2nd runner up in "Kompetisi Gitar Klasik Nasional' KGKN #IV 2017, and 1st placed in Tohpati Acoustic Guitar Competition 2018.

His discography debut started with "Painting of Senses" album (2018) and continued with second album "Menanti Matahari" (2019). Beside classical music playing, Hansen often plays in other genres and collaborates with many cross-instrument or cross-genres musicians.


PAINTING OF SENSES

Album Painting of Senses adalah sebuah refleksi terhadap "rasa-rasa" yang pernah saya alami dan saya refleksikan ke dalam komposisi-komposisi yang saya tulis dalam album ini, maupun interpretasi saya terhadap beberapa karya-karya komposer lain yang saya mainkan dalam album ini. Seperti halnya pelukis, pelukis melukiskan gagasan, imajinasinya dengan goresan-goresan lukisan. Sebagai musisi saya melukiskan gagasan, imajinasi saya dengan untaian nada-nada. Oleh karena itu dengan karya-karya musik dalam album ini saya melukiskan "rasa-rasa" ke dalam untaian nada atau bisa juga disebut album ini lukisan rasa-rasa.

MENANTI MATAHARI

Menanti Matahari (Waiting for the Sun) is my second album. The title was taken from one of the track titles of the album. Menanti Matahari was inspired by my experience, waiting for the sun rise while I was camping. Besides the experience, the title actually means a hope for positive things to come. The album featuring eight of my lastest composition which I tried to explore various beats, nuances, and styles of music into it. Also two very delicate classical pieces from the baroque and romantic era that I arranged for guitar.

A Question adalah single pertama Dwi Hansen yang dibuat dengan struktur yang simpel dan nuansa kontemplatif. A Question merepresentasikan pertanyaan yang sering muncul dalam hari-hari kita terhadap macam-macam hal.

At 2018 ago, I saw a concert where a pianist gave an amazing performance. That moment inspired me to write this piece.

"Paris" is a waltz piece for solo guitar written and recorded on Dwi Hansen's second album "Menanti Matahari".
Long time ago i've heard backsound from a Paris travel video which that is a waltz music played by accordion. The tune quite interesting and i decide to write a piece which have a style and nuance like that.
